Kara Ritchie (Owner/Instructor) began her dancing career at the early age of 5. She studied all forms of dance under Linda Twedell at Encore! Dance Studio in Stillwater, Oklahoma. For 21 years, she trained and taught Pre-School through Adult classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, pointe, lyrical, and pom. She attended Oklahoma State University where she majored in Special Education/Elementary Education. A teaching job landed Kara in Kansas City, where she also started several successful on-site dance programs. Kara continued her dance career her in Tulsa, when her family moved home 4 years ago. She taught dance at Whiteside Parks and Recreation for 2 years then opened That’s Dancing! Dance Studio in 2003.
Kara has choreographed for Nationally ranked high school dance teams, been a member of the Oklahoma State University Dance Team, won National awards at numerous dance competitions, and choreographed for perspective Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, pageant contestants, and college musicals. She keeps current with her career by attending dance workshops, and various dance classes.
Carrie Chapman (Dance Instructor)began dance at the age of 5. She attended the University of Oklahoma and studied dance. She has been in Discoveryland’s “Oklahoma”, and “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” as a dancer and dance captain. For the past 15 years she has taught ballet, tap, and jazz to all ages. She is a member of Dance Masters. Carrie is married and has 3 daughters.
Caroline Bettis (Dance Instructor) has been dancing for 15 years. She has trained throughout the Kansas City area at the American Ballet, Kansas City Dance Expressions, and Steppin’ Out Dance Studio. She was part of High School Drill Team for 5 years and was Captain her senior year. She has received scholarships from Tremaine Dance Convention, West Coast, and New York City Alliance. She currently works for American Dance and Drill Team as a camp instructor and competition judge, and is a member of the University of Tulsa Dance Team.
Chelsea Day has been dancing since age 4. She trained in Stillwater and quickly moved up to Assistant Teacher & then Head Instructor. At the age of 17, she moved to France for school and studied various dance forms abroad including Modern, Ballet, and Latin dance. Her Senior year she returned to Oklahoma and was chosen as a member of the all-state dance team. In college, she danced on the Oklahoma State Pom Squad for four years, and was Captain her senior year. She also had theopportunity to choreograph routines for various dance teams in Oklahoma. She iscurrently workingasa personal trainer, focusing on Pilates, Kickboxing, and Zumba.
Lindy Rhomas- Lindy’s dancing career began at the age of three, at Encore! Dance Studio in Stillwater, OK . At fourteen she began assisting with dance classes, and at the same time began attending dance conventions including Tremaine and Dance Caravan. Dancing became her major extracurricular focus in high school, and as a Senior was given her first class as an Instructor. She continued teachingand taking tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and competitive dance classes whileearning a B.S.inInterior Design and M.S. in International Studies at Oklahoma State University.
Juliet Davis- started dance in 8th grade with Pom at Jenks, from there danced with June Runyon. She started on Pointe a year or two into dancing and have loved it. Although she trained in all genres her passion & focus is Ballet. Juliet has performed in OKMozart, I Love Dancewith June Runyon, & the Nutcracker for 4 years parts including: Core (Flower and Snow), Spanish, Clara, Queen ofthe PlumCourtand the Angel.
Mary Ann Voskamp-Mary Ann began studying dance at Dance Unlimited in Edmond, OK in1998. In 2003 she joined the Vibe Competitive Dance Company while continuing her studies at Dance Unlimited. She studied and competed in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lyrical dance. During her high school dance career she also served as an assistant instructor at Dance Unlimited. She has received numerous awards and honors through dance. Mary Ann was selected as Miss Edmond Libertyfest Outstanding Teen and performed her dance Solo at the Miss Oklahoma Outstanding Teen competition which is held in conjunction with Miss Oklahoma each year. She has had the opportunity to study under many talented performers and choreographers including Jessie Lee Santos who has choreographed and toured with Britney Spears. The past year she has performed with The University of Tulsa Hurricane Dance Team. Mary Ann is a sophomore at the University of Tulsa majoring in Arts Management. She is excited about sharing her love of dance with the students at “That’s Dancing!”
Kim Orr- attended the University of Oklahoma, with a degree in Recreational Therapy and Early Childhood Development. She has worked with all ages for the past 18 years instructing aerobics, strength training, yoga, jazzercise, ballet, tap, and hip-hop. After working 7 years in Clearwater, Florida, and San Diego, California, she returned to Tulsa to raise her family and continue educating people on the importance of physical wellness. |
